Calculating length of SMS

When sending SMS, the price of an SMS is calculated based on the length of the message you are sending. The length is defined in the SMS international protocol.

In short, the calculation of SMS parts in a message is like this:

One SMS is 160 characters long. If Emoijis or special characters are used, they count as more than one character.

If the SMS is longer than 160 characters, the first SMS is reduced to 153 characters (to keep link to next SMS). Then the rest is moved to a second SMS. If the second SMS is longer than 153 characters, a third SMS is created, and so on.

All these SMS parts is only technical. In Clinic+ and on the clients phone it appears as one combined message.
